Aloha Ma Maison (Bugis+) | ThumbsForFood

We're back, after going on a HIATUS for the Chinese New Year! I hope that everyone had fun lo-heing and gambling and feasting!

From the name of the restaurant, you would expect to be served Hawaiian-infused food. We were there for dinner and strangely, the food there did not have much of that element. The only thing that matched the theme is probably the restaurant's decorations.

Menu
The menu is quite similar to the one at Ma Maison but lacking lots more variety. So I would recommend you to just return to the original Ma Maison for a meal.

Escargots are like one of my favorite. I like shell fishes, seafood, basically living things under the sea. So, it was a must to order their escargots. It was served with a fire surrounding the metal plate. And don't be deceived by my photo, each escargot was actually quite tiny. That was sad. Taste-wise, buttery-garlic with not much surprise.

Escargots: priced around $10
Creamy Salmon was nothing special. The sauce is palatable and creamy like the name suggests. Salmon was however a little disappointing as you can see from the photo below. It was served with mushrooms, carrots and vegetables. Not a dish that I would recommend; it was simply to simple.

Creamy Salmon: Priced around $13
Omelet rice with beef was surprisingly not bad. The omelet was cooked to perfection and went well with the rice. The beef was in slices and the sauce of the beef was good and blended well with the omelet rice.

Omelet rice with Beef: Priced around $15
Tonkatsu Set was disappointing, especially when I've visited Tonkatsu by Ma Maison (please click here to revisit the post). How should I put it? Just not a place you would go to satisfy your Tonkatsu cravings.

Tonkatsu Set: Priced around $25
Their burger is not too bad. It is served with omelet and beef patty. The beef patty is juicy and not too stiff. Well, mediocre standard! Better burgers elsewhere!

Burger: Priced around $12
So, overall, Aloha Ma Maison was quite disappointing. We went off without eating their desserts because it did not feel like a good dessert place. Ambience wise, suitable for large crowds but, don't expect private dining experience. Price wise, affordable I would say, but, not worth it.

They have men's night on Thursday which is quite unique because not many places have that. It's 20% if you're a guy!
