Cozy Corner Coffee (Everton Park) | ThumbsForFood

As the name suggests of this cafe, Cozy Corner Coffee is set in a corner of Everton Park and is a cafe that prides itself with good coffee. They serve up a wide range of brewed coffee as well as flavoured ones. There will be surely something for every coffee lover out there.

This was our first time coming across Cozy Corner Coffee. When you talk about Everton Park cafes, many will think of Just Want Coffee, Grin Affair or Provision Shop. Not many would have heard of Cozy Corner. I guess one huge pull factor for us to check this place out was because of it's ambience.

Walk inside and you will see one side of the wall with black and white graffiti wallpaper. The space is spacious, clean and chic. I particularly like their full length glass doors and windows, making the cafe have an open and welcoming feeling. Cozy Corner has free wifi and we saw several students studying   when we were there.

Cozy Corner offers some cakes for those with sweet tooth. Prices are quite reasonably ranged from $5.80 to $6 plus. Besides cakes, they also offer Savoury food for the hungry such as Pasta, Lasagne and Paninis all priced below $10. They do not have an extensive selection of food but I guess, is sufficient to food the hungry.

As we were there for tea, we tried their Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake. I was a tat bit disappointed because there really wasn't much Salted Caramel Taste. Rather, I felt like I was having a chocolate cake. The chocolate layers were nice and rich but, the cream layers lack oomph.

Ironically, we weren't in the mood for coffee when we arrived here. It's a pity that we didn't try their coffee. We would definitely come back to try their coffee! We instead, chose the Iced Green Tea Latte ($5) which we saw was also recommended in the menu. Personally, I like my Green Tea richer. But, I would say the one served in Cozy Corner was really quite good. It is a refreshing alternative for non-coffee drinkers.

They also have magazines in the cafe for those looking for something to read while having some cake and coffee. What's more to life than an afternoon spent reading while having a slice of cake and a drink? For those who are looking for such a place, Cozy Corner can be on your list.

Cafehopping in Singapore: Guide to Everton Park | ThumbsForFood

Hi guys, hope y'all had a great week!

If you haven't already know, Everton Park is the new hipster hangout place after Tiong Bahru. Last week, I decided to head there to try out Just Want Coffee and discovered that there were a few new cafes! So... here's a list of cafes in the Everton Park area for you! They are all within walking distance from each other so if you are on a cafehopping trip, you may want to consider going with a bigger group of friends so that you can try a greater variety of food!

1. The Audacious Cakery

The Audacious Cakery serves up a series of cakes. It is a small shop with simple decorations. Their cakes are definitely worth a try! Other than cakes, they serve up other sweets such as cupcakes and macarons as well.

2. Batterworks

Batterworks is a cosy little shop that is apparently good for its bakes and desserts. It serves up some savoury snacks as well for people who are not fans of desserts!

3. Nylon

Nylon is one of the earlier cafes in the Everton area. It serves coffee only and is more of a takeout coffee shop. If you are a coffee
connoisseur, you can visit the place to buy their coffee beans or even coffee-related accessories! There are limited seats so be prepared to have your coffee somewhere else!

4. Grin Affair

I think most people should be quite familiar with Grin Affair. Grin Affair sells cake in a jar at very affordable prices. It is good if you want some dessert after your meal and also a very good gift to others!

5. Happy 3 Bites Café
This newest addition to the Everton Park estate is a NEA-approved pets café. For pets owner, you no longer have to worry about leaving your little friends behind at home!

There's the usual brunch food like Eggs Benedict and waffles. The menu is quite simple but I guess the main attraction is that pets are allowed ^^

6. Cozy Corner Coffee
Cozy  Corner Coffee is a small and cozy little café situated just behind Just Want Coffee. When I visited this place recently on a weekday afternoon, I was surprised to find that there were quite a few tables occupied. It looks like a decent place to do some studying or reading in the afternoon!

They serve up simple western food like sandwiches and pastas. Personally, I love their green tea latte!

7. Just Want Coffee

As the name of the café suggests, Just Want Coffee is famous for its good brews. For people who frequently cross the custom, you will be happy to know that there is an outlet in Johor Bahru as well! The menu is simple, with the usual savoury snacks and desserts. The cakes and desserts are mostly made in their outlet in Johor and delivered to Singapore.

I love their roasted almond latte! :D

The Provision Shop | ThumbsForFood

The Provision Shop is one of the cafes in Everton Park. I was quite piqued by the name of the place and thus was quite excited to visit it.

The first thing that will catch your eye when you approach The Provision Shop is the row of small colourful chairs lined at the corridor. As you enter the place, you will see these colours on the wall; be it on paintings, on their furniture or their tableware. They give the place a vintage modern chic feel in contrast with the white and black-tiled walls.

I like that the pictures on the wall and decor of the place is consistent with their vintage theme. Look around, and you will see that every painting is unique and exudes it's own character.

I like how all the slightest details in the cafe are consistent with the theme of restaurant.

We ordered a Long Black ($4) and Flat White ($5). The coffee was served in old school cups. We found the coffee quite aromatic. The coffee price is quite reasonable I would say. For non-coffee lovers, The Provision Shop also serve up alcoholic beverages such as beer and cider as well as non-alcoholic floats and teas.

Long Black

Flat White
Belinda Perogis ($6) was chosen because it looked interesting from the menu. It is actually Polish dumplings filled with mashed potato and cheese. Something like a gnocchi or a tortellini. It is topped with sour cream, bacon and onions. If you would like extra toppings, you can add $1. This dish was served hot. Personally, I adore anything with cheese and thus, I quite like this dish.

The Provision Shop also offers other hot food such as sandwiches, pastas and more. I think there is probably something for everyone.

We tried their Blueberry Lemon cake ($6.50). It was topped with some icing on it. The cake is dense. I realised that some people enjoy their cake more airy and fluffy while others prefer it dense. Personally, I do enjoy this slice of cake as it was not too sweet and went well with coffee. They do have crepes too for those looking or something different.

Overall, I would say The Provision Shop scores in its ambience as well as it's consistency in theme. I guess service is something that can be brushed up on as a warm and welcoming service adds another pull factor to the cafe.

Do share with us your favourite cafe haunts and food! :)
