Founded in Australia, Just Like it! has spread its roots to various countries in Asia, including Singapore. I was excited to try it as I have tried N2 gelato in Sydney previously and it was pretty yummy!

 

We ordered the highly recommended Durian Durian and the Hazelnut Kit Kat flavours. The ice cream tasted pretty ordinary and the toppings were just so disappointing. Well, one thing for sure, the pricing of the ice cream was way too high. The total bill came up to $30. Luckily for us, we bought a groupon voucher so we only paid $20 for these 2 plates of ice cream.

I will not recommend this as it is really too overpriced. I had my N2 gelato in Sydney for only 8 AUD!

They should definitely work on their menu to attract more customers.

Cove Stadium (Quayside Isle) | ThumbsForFood

One of the benefits of having an off day on a weekday is that you'll be able to get to enjoy some Weekday Lunch Promotion! As we were in Sentosa, we decided to make our way to the recent popular destination in Singapore, Quayside Isle for a meal. 

If you do not drive, you can hop onto a Shuttle Bus from Beach station (with a frequency of 30mins) and take a walk to Quayside Isle from Sentosa Cove. After walking around the area, we decided to try out Cove Stadium as we were not only attracted to it's very cool sports-themed interior but, also it's lunch promotion.

We absolutely adore the interior of Cove Stadium with it's open and spacious interior, coupled with a clean modern industrial look. We could imagine how alluring it is at night especially for sports fans who would like to catch the latest matches with a group of friends.

They have Happy Hour from Mondays to Fridays from opening to 10pm. Besides that, they have other drinks promotion ongoing daily. You can visit their website here to find out more about their drinks promotions. We had a 1-for-1 draft Kronenbourg that day.

For their Weekday Lunch Deal, you can choose from 2 courses at $18 or 3 courses at $21. We went for the 3 course deal.

For starters, we chose the Salad over the Soup of the Day. The salad consisted of Greens served with some grilled pieces of chicken. We liked that the greens were fresh and the chicken well-marinated.

For mains, if I am not mistaken, you get to choose from some selected dishes. We chose the Bacon Spaghetti in Aglio Olio Style. We felt that the pasta was cooked well and well-flavored. However, our qualm would be that the ingredients were not as generous as we would like.

Desserts wise, we chose the Strawberry Compote. The dessert was good. It wasn't too sweet yet preserving the natural flavour of Strawberry.

For $21, we thought the lunch deal was really quite worth it. Moreover, prices are nett! 

We decided to try their Signature Cove Wagyu Burger. The presentation made the dish looked really appetising! It was served with some salad and a helpful of fries. We felt the patty was a tat too dry that day. I though adding some cheese into the burger will improve the overall flavour of the burger. For $38, we felt the price was a bit too steep. The portion was generous but, we didn't felt like the beef was really of quality.

Overall, we felt that Cove Stadium's Lunch Deal was really good! Plus, their drinks promotion was really attractive as well. If you are with a large group, you may consider their bucket deals. A bonus to the place is that you can choose the al fresco seats to enjoy the beautiful quayside scenery! The food and drinks here are without any taxes as well. We would love to visit this place at night with a group of friends again!

Coastes (Sentosa) | ThumbsForFood

Coastes is located along Siloso Beach. It is not difficult to spot the blue and white themed seaside bar and restaurant amidst the other beach bars and restaurants.

We arrived there in the early evening for a meal and so there wasn't many patrons around. The majority seating area is opening air with rustic-feel benches and tables. I like the ambience which is pretty relaxing with the sea a stone's throw away. There are also several trees around that provide a tinge of greenery.

The concept of Coastes is that you will order your food at the counter yourself. The kitchen can be seen through a glass pane. I like the sight of cooks in the kitchen preparing the food as t makes me feel assured that the food is prepared and served fresh. It's really a kind of assurance.

They serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages which I feel are average-priced. The Sol costs about $11 while mojito costs about $12. What can be more enjoyable than a cup of cool beer and iced mojito to have in a hand while you enjoy the food and breeze?

Drinks

We ordered a few dishes to share. The seafood platter (about $39) was one of our choices. As many familiar readers of our blog would know, I'm a seafood lover, thus, anything that's seafood would naturally attract me! The seafood platter consists of 6 different kinds of seafood cooked in various ways.

As you can see below, They have grilled prawns, deep fried calamari and oysters, stewed mussels, cooked crayfish and sauce, cooked clams and the one in the middle which is covered by a lid is a tomato-based seafood stew. The seafood stew is for the dipping of the garlic bread on the far left. I would say the best out of all is the seafood stew in the middle. It goes really well with bread. The least favorite would be the clams that had an over-fishy stench, that indicated that they were either not washed thoroughly or not fresh.

Well, I would say for two people, this seafood platter is a good choice if you're looking for finger food that has no frills. Easy to eat and has variety. I would definitely appreciate if the seafood is fresher and more succulent.

The other dish is the seafood linguine in white wine sauce (about $20+). I think the standard of the pasta is pretty mediocre. The white wine sauce wasn't very fragrant so it wasn't appetising enough. If cooked well, the white wine sauce should be able to enhance the seafood taste. I appreciated the generous servings of clams in it. Surprisingly, the clams in the pasta did not have a stench like the one in the seafood platter.

Last but not least, we ordered a pizza. The pizza was thin crust. Nothing extraordinary but definitely palatable.

All in all, I would say that Coastes has a nice ambience by the beach of Siloso. A great place to get a drink, lie on a sunbed and chill with a couple of friends. But, for the food solely, I don't think it's worth it to come all the way into Sentosa. The thing that was irritating were the flies around towards the end of the meal. Other than that, if you're in the area no harm trying out the food!

I would love to visit this place to have a tan on the sunbeds of Coastes with a beer in hand.
