Poulet opened another branch in Great World City. As many would know, Poulet (poo-lay) is started by the Thai Express Group and offers affordable french cuisine. They specialize in French Roast Chicken (poulet rôti).
In Great World City mall, Poulet is situated on the 2nd level and has an open concept. The restaurant gives one a comfortable feeling due to the way the place is designed.
We started of with Country Side Mushroom Soup ($5.80). They use Idaho Potato in their mushroom soup, which is probably is the reason of the unique flavor present. We really like the mushroom soup as it was not too creamy. Also, we could taste the mushroom fragrance and bits in the soup which was a plus point. The portion is a little small, but, for $5.80 we felt that it was reasonable.

Chicken and Fig Marmalade Sandwich ($8.80) is reasonably priced for the serving. The home-made fig marmalade and chicken-dressed with Aioli Sauce was special. As I quite like fig, I found that it went well with the chicken and the sandwich. For non-fig lovers, you might want to try something else.

The specialty, Poulet Roti ($15.80) - (Whole chicken at $28.80) is served with home-made Mushroom Chardonnay Sauce. It does not come with any sides, so you can add mash potatoes or other sides (about $3) to go with it. We felt that the chicken was well-cooked and tender. Taste wise, nothing too special or different about the chicken. The Chardonnay Sauce is quite strong in its white wine flavor. I find that it went okay with the chicken. For the portion, I think the price is rather reasonable.

For it's affordable prices and quality of food, I guess we will be back to try their other main courses! If you're looking for affordable french cuisine, Poulet would be a good choice. Ambience wise, not suitable for couples seeking a romantic dinner!
