This restaurant looked pretty cool from the outside and the prices were rather alright for a place at Dempsey. So, we decided to have a try despite its rather negative reviews on hungrygowhere.
CA* California was inspired by the rustic old-world beauty of Dempsey Hill, reminding the owner of his happy days at California and the fresh unpretentious good food he enjoyed there.
Pasta with Sausage. Well, this was one of their recommended items but it wasn't really fantastic. Oh yes I don't really remember the pricings of the dishes but they are all around $15-25!
Philadelphia steak sandwich. This was a simple sandwich. Luckily there is the melted cheddar that came to save the day.
Seafood Aglio Olio. Nothing fascinating as well!
Steak. This was one of their specials as well.
Well, although their food aren't fantastic, I like their ambience and the casual feel in the place [:
What's more is that they have a live band performing at night! A good place to have a drink and eat some B&J!

All in all, I did not find the food worth the price. But factoring in the ambience and the location, I would say it adds on to the value! Nothing extraordinarily nice, but nothing extraordinarily bad also!
